Soccer fanatic - Groups D - F
Well Well I am back with my predictions for the next three groups...
"WHAT?"

Group D
Mexico / Iran / Angola / Portugal
My Fave in the group: Portugal. There is always one team that surprises the world and this time that team could be Portugal. Luis Scolari team’s is very capable. We saw that in EURO 2004 and with Deco, Luis FigoCristiano Ronaldo in their ranks, Portugal could certainly cause some upsets. Portugal are surely in and may be they may even surprise a much bigger team in quarters.
There’s just something about Mexico that doesn’t carry conviction. But we’ve never seen Iran performing at the highest level and acquitting themselves. I would say may be IRAN has a chance and I wouldn’t be surprised if they come ahead of Mexico. However, I still predict Mexico in the final 16. Angola is just here to enjoy the experience.

Group E
Italy / Ghana / USA / Czech Rep
My Fave in the group: Czech Rep. In this group, lets face it, it should be the Czechs and Italy, but who will come out on top. Czech Rep was good in EURO 2004 and I like the team. They have a good Goal Keeper, Cech and a variety of talent Nedved, Baros, Koeller and let’s not forget the new gunner Rosicky. A worthy team if you ask me.
Italy, the more I think about them, are not any better on paper than they were considered to be last time, however a great team again. Del piero, Inzaghi, Zambrotta, Nesta, Cannavaro… just brilliant. However, TOTTI SUCKS!!!!!
Ghana might put up a close fight, and then it might not.
As for the USA, I think that everybody would like them out of the tournament, ASAP. Honestly speaking Czechs have indeed aged, but it shouldn’t necessarily show in the first round games, but later on. I am biased, since I support the Czechs, so I’ll suggest they win and finish first, coz whoever finishes second plays BRAZIL in the next round.

Group F
Brazil / Croatia / Australia / Japan
My Fave in the group: [And I am not proud to say it] Brazil. The question is Can Brazil be Beaten? Many may think otherwise but Group F opponents Croatia, Japan and Australia are all capable of testing Brazil in the opening round, and how easily - or not - their defense handles with the ability of Harry Kewell and Mark Viduka will offer a clue as to how well they will fare against bigger teams in the later stages of the competition.
Croatia again, has progressed very well in all big competitions and is a reasonably talented side. But I cannot see them going into quarters, again upsets, you never know.
Australia, well being here in aussie and also me being a long time follower of soccer, I can just say Harry Kewell and Mark Viduka are too hyped and overrated here. Honestly, as I see it the other two don’t have a chance against Brazil and Croatia. It could go to goal difference, but that should favor the Brazilians.
